Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Etihad Guest, the award-winning loyalty programme of Etihad Airways, has signed an expansion agreement with Air Canada, the flag carrier and the largest airline of Canada and their loyalty programme Aeroplan, bringing further benefits for Etihad Guest members.
As the aviation industry begins to restart and travellers take to the skies once more, members for both Etihad Guest and Aeroplan will be able to earn and spend miles reciprocally on all flights across the entire Air Canada network, and the same will be possible for Aeroplan members travelling with Etihad. This expanded partnership forms part of the ongoing enhancements of the redesigned and upgraded Etihad Guest loyalty programme, as it continues to offer its members significantly enhanced benefits.
Yasser Al Yousuf, Vice President Commercial Partnerships, said: “This is a welcome expansion of Etihad’s existing codeshare agreement with Air Canada, that will bring additional benefits to Etihad Guest members. In these current times, partnerships such as these are important for encouraging confidence and instilling loyalty and trust in the aviation industry so that you, our guests, know we are committed to bringing you the very best experience when you choose to travel again.
“This is an exciting addition to the range of travel and lifestyle partners bringing benefits to Etihad Guests 7 million members worldwide, helping to secure our loyalty programme as one of the most rewarding in the industry.”
Air Canada’s extensive global network connects passengers to 189 destinations operating an extensive network across Canada, North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, all which are available for Etihad Guest members to earn and spend their Etihad Guest miles on.
When operating to its full capacity, Etihad Airways offers services five times a week to Toronto from Abu Dhabi, and connects passengers to a further 75 destinations across the world, with five routes from the North American continent to the East and beyond. Guests transiting through Abu Dhabi from the East, will have access to Etihad’s USA pre-clearance, the only United States Customs and Border Protection facility in the Middle East. It allows passengers bound for North America to process all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections in Abu Dhabi before they board their flight to one of Etihad’s four destinations in the United States.
