We understand the impact that flying has on the environment. That’s why we’re taking a louder, bolder approach to sustainable aviation. We’re using technology and innovation to transform the future of flying, to ensure that in the future, the only thing you leave behind when you fly are the memories.

Collaboration is a significant pillar of our sustainability strategy; building partnerships to reduce the impact of flying on the planet.
On 25 October 2022, we operated a flight from Tokyo to Abu Dhabi using a 40% blend of SAF supplied by ITOCHU Corporation and NESTE.
It represented the first delivery of 50,000 gallons of SAF, entirely produced in Japan, which was used to fuel our aircraft over the following weeks.
We know the path to net zero won’t be a simple one. But we also understand the urgency of that journey. That’s why we’ve partnered with World Energy to make carbon-neutral flying possible.
On 13 November, we flew our first net zero carbon flight from Washington to Sharm-El-Sheik for COP27. That’s 10,000km emission-free.
You shouldn’t have to choose between travel and planet Earth. And neither should the generations after us.
That’s why we’re exploring new options for green aviation, investing in new technologies to reduce the impact that flying has on the planet.
Together with our partners from across the industry, we’re making changes today for a better world tomorrow.
Join us on our most important journey yet; from Abu Dhabi for the world.
Green aviation is all about lessening the environmental impact of flying. It’s a term that’s used to describe the innovation and technology that goes into making our flights more efficient by reducing emissions, fuel consumption and noise.

We pledge to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
To do that, we’re on a journey to transform the future of aviation. And it’s our most important journey so far.
Through our partnership with CarbonClick, you can offset your carbon emissions when you fly and help us support projects that fight climate change.
Did you know that by carrying even just a little less baggage, you’ll help to reduce your carbon footprint?
On average, 100kg of weight requires 15kg of fuel. That’s 47kg of CO2 emissions.
We’re leading the development of new sustainable fuels to significantly reduce our carbon emissions, like creating biofuels from saltwater-tolerant plants.
