Use your Travel Bank account to pay for flights, upgrades and extras. When you’re ready to book, simply log in to your Etihad Guest account and select Travel Bank as your form of payment at check-out. Or call us to arrange your flight.
If you’ve opted for Etihad Credit, we’ll add the value of your credit to a Travel Bank account.
Travel Bank lets you hold multiple credits in one account and spend them on flights, upgrades and extras in the future.
When your account has been created, we’ll send you an email with your Travel Bank account details and Etihad Guest number you’ll need these to make a booking.
You must have a valid Etihad Guest account to be eligible for a Travel bank account.
You can use your Travel Bank credits to pay for flights and extras like additional baggage or a seat in Economy Space. Simply choose how much of your Travel Bank balance you’d like to use, then pay the rest using your credit card on etihad.com.
When you call our Contact Centre, you can also use your credit to upgrade or exchange your ticket.
You cannot redeem Travel Bank credits to pay for miles redemption bookings, Reward Shop purchases, Etihad Holiday packages or bookings through travel agents.
You can redeem your Travel Bank credit when you book at etihad.com. Log in to your Etihad Guest account and select Travel Bank as your payment option. Choose the amount you’d like to pay with Travel Bank credit and pay the rest with card.
If you’d prefer to call our Contact Centre, please let us know that you’d like to use your Travel Bank credit at the start of the call. You’ll need to provide your Etihad Guest number when you book.
Your credits cannot be used for bookings made with a travel agent.
You must be an Etihad Guest member to have a Travel Bank account. Get in touch with our Contact Centre and request to create a Travel Bank account for you.
Once your travel bank is activated we will share all your account details in the welcome email. The welcome email will contain your Travel Bank account and Etihad guest number. You will need these details to redeem your Travel Bank credits.
Travel Bank accounts are created in the currency of the country you have listed in your Etihad Guest profile.
The currency of the account cannot be changed after it has been created, but your credits can be used towards bookings in any currency.
We’ll let you know how much credit you have available when you book at etihad.com – you must be logged in to your Etihad Guest account – or when you call our Contact Centre. To check your credit balance at any other time, please email travelbank@etihad.ae.
Yes, you can pay with a combination of Travel Bank credits and card. If you book in person with one of our agents, you can pay with a combination of Travel Bank credits, card and cash. Travel Bank credits and Etihad Guest Miles cannot be combined.
The validity of your Travel Bank credit validity depends on the type of service credits that have been added to your account. We’ll send you an email to let know the validity whenever we credit your account, or you can call our Contact Centre Contact Centre.
Travel does not have to be completed by the Travel Bank credit expiration date.
Travel Bank credits cannot be extended.
If your ticket has been refunded, Travel Bank credits will be returned to the same Travel Bank account. The Travel Bank credit expiry will revert to its original expiry date. For example, if the credit was issued on 15 Aug 2020 and the expiry date was 365 days, and the ticket was issued on 12 Feb 2021 and cancelled on 16 Feb 2021, the credit will revert to the expiry date of 14 Aug 2021. If the expiry date has passed, the credit will be cancelled.
The amount of credits refunded depends on the fare rules of the ticket or product that is being refunded. For example, if you paid 500 Travel Bank credits for a ticket using your Travel Bank Credits and the refund cancellation fees is 50, then 450 Travel Bank credits will be added back to your account.
Travel Bank credits cannot be transferred.
Yes, you can use your Travel Bank credits to pay for flights and extras for someone else.
No, you cannot apply credit to a reservation that has already been paid for.
We have two options available to you. Each family member can book individually at etihad.com and use their own Travel Bank credits. Or to book everyone on the same reservation, please call our Contact Centre.
You can only use your Travel Bank credits to change or upgrade your flight by calling our Contact Centre.
