Playing at Abu Dhabi Golf Club’s iconic 18-hole Championship course provides stand out memories for pros and amateur golfers alike.
Often named as a favourite among golfing greats, The National offers immaculately tended fairways, undulating greens, pockets of palms and shimmering saltwater lakes. The abundant water hazards are especially evident on the signature 12th hole, which necessitates a bold carry over a lake to find the green.
The excellent nine-hole Garden Course is an enjoyable alternative to the National.
A par-36 course, it offers a variety of challenges for budding golfers with a number of long and short par fours. The flood lighting makes teeing off in the cooler evening temperatures a tantalising option too.
While it may not be as challenging as the Championship course, the Garden Course is still beset with testing water hazards, so having plenty of balls is wise.
Abu Dhabi Golf Club is located in Khalifa City A, close to Sheikh Zayed Bridge.
Head east on Corniche Road and join the E10. Cross Sheikh Zayed Bridge and pick up signs for Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The drive takes around 30 minutes.
Abu Dhabi Golf Club is a 20-minute drive from the airport. Follow the E20 and take the exit for Al Fursan Street. Turn left onto Al Maqasid Street and continue to the Golf Club.
The journey from Yas Island to Abu Dhabi Golf Club takes about 20 minutes. Head east on the E12 and turn right onto the E10, following signs for the Golf Club.
