Sun seekers, sports lovers, foodies, families and skaters. There are plenty of activities to cater for all at this vibrant beachside park.
Water is at the heart of Al Reem Island. Impressive water features provide a relaxing experience from every direction. Head there in the evening for the laser and light show, where these striking statues dazzle in colour.
Head for the beach and you’ll find plenty of places to chill. Children will love playing in the golden sand. There’s also a dedicated area for beach volleyball games – join in or just kick back and watch the action.
Children are far from an afterthought at Reem Central Park. Not only will they be delighted by the fountains and the unique artwork, but there are also playgrounds packed with slides and shaded from the sun.
For the older children, there’s a dedicated skate park, cleverly located between two bridges in the park’s centre. Surrounded by artificial lawns, it has areas for pros, but also more gentle sections tailor-made for scooters.
Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack, a family meal or a sweet treat, Reem Central Park is also a great dining destination. Embrace street food at a variety of trucks, from the cutting-edge tacos of Taqado to barista-brewed coffee at Cupagahwa.
There are numerous family food options here as well, from Neapolitan pizza through to a Japanese bakery. Children of all ages will adore Jelly Belly’s 50 flavours of gourmet ice creams.
Not everyone heads to Reem Central Park to eat and relax – it’s a popular hub for those who’re feeling active too. In addition to the soft sands, where you’ll find beach volleyball, there are four purpose-built, multi-sport courts.
Choose to spectate or take to the court for basketball or work up a sweat at football. The former court is adorned with a huge mural dedicated to the legendary LA Laker, Kobe Bryant.
With achingly beautiful mangrove vistas, the park is an increasingly popular place for a walk at all times of the day, sunrise to sunset.
On the beachside, enjoy the city’s waterfront promenade – canoes are available if you want to take to the water. Alternatively, head to the opposite side of the park for the canal walk, here you’ll find an area with a lush natural lawn, artistic gateways and picnic spots. There are also plenty of surprises to discover along the way.
Reem Central Park is on the northern side of Al Reem Island, north of the Gate District – an area packed with hotels.
A 30-to-40-minute drive will take you to Reem Central Park from Yas Island. One of the more direct routes is to drive west along Sheikh Khalif Bin Zayed Street and stay on until you reach Al Zahiyah Street. Additionally, you can travel on the E12 and E10 into the city.

This 30-minute journey takes you south-west across the Sheikh Khalif Bridge into the city. Then, follow Al Zahiyah Street and cross the water via Hamouda Bin Ali Al Dhaheri Street – similarly to our Corniche directions.
Leave the airport and join the E20 heading into the city. Pass the striking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to join the E10 highway, then cross over the water on Hazza Bin Zayed the First Street. Carry on past the Gate District to reach the park.
There is a free-to-use surface parking lot on Al Sheer Street, which is easily accessible for the park. It’s open seven days a week.
There is an on-site concession offering canoe and kayak rentals close to the beach for those who want to get on the water.
In addition to the many food trucks, there are also several permanent restaurants at Reem Central Park, including a seafood grill and modern pizzeria.
The layout of the park affords excellent accessibility for all including wheelchair users.
It’s free to enter Reem Central Park, and it’s also open to non-residents. There are charges for some of the activities, however, such as the rental kayaks.
While the sea here is accessible, it’s not suitable for swimming. Instead, you can hire kayaks and canoes to explore the mangroves.
There is a mini mart at the park for small purchases and drinks, such as water. There are also numerous restaurants, cafes and food trucks.
No. Parking is free, but is on a first come, first-served basis. If you’re not a resident of Al Reem Island, car is the best way to arrive, as public transport doesn’t serve the park. There’s a short walk to the park from the parking area. Alternatively, you can pay for valet parking.
